Thematic group “Tourism”: search for new projects taking into account existing problems and trends

In a month, on September 7, the foresight camp will start working on Baikal. Its participants will design the future of the Baikal region until 2035, as well as develop road maps for its implementation.

One of the 12 thematic groups is devoted to the tourism industry. It will be headed by an entrepreneur from Irkutsk Anatoly Kazakevich-the Creator of the tour operator “Baikal adventures”.

Anatoly Kazakevich intends to build the group’s work around new projects that have prospects to become key drivers of the region’s development, relying on the already existing project “Baikal: the Great lake of the great country” and taking into account the expected infrastructure changes. The group’s work will take into account current trends — the spontaneous growth of tourist flow from China, the involvement of the local population, the desire for environmental friendliness.

In addition, one of the important tasks of the group is the integration of tourism and export-oriented projects:

“The market of the Baikal region is rich and unique: it is high-tech products on the basis of the Baikal water, Baikal cosmetics from herbs, medicinal crops, wild plants, etc. Need to show visitors not only the beauty of nature, but also the export potential of the region. – Anatoly Kazakevich considers. – Our tourism has all chances to become a marketing showcase of the region. Taking into account that Baikal is visited by people from all over the world, it is possible to ensure the initial acquaintance of travelers with the products, forming a binding of consumers to the goods right on the shores of Baikal”.

The group invites participants and experts with achievements in the field of tourism: hotel owners, tour operators, major carriers, event organizers. Combining the world experience of experts and knowledge of the specifics of work in our territory, the team will develop specific projects for the development of tourism in the Baikal region until 2035.

The Baikal strategies business club together with the Baikal ecological coalition with the support of the governments of the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Buryatia, the all-Russian public organization Delovaya Rossiya, the investment development Agency and the Irkutsk region development Corporation within the framework of the Federal project foresight-Navigation 2017 holds the foresight camp at Baikal.

“Foresight-navigation” is a project Of the Agency for strategic initiatives (ASI), based on a system of collective expert forecasting and design of economically and socially important regional development strategies. In 2017, ASI experts selected the eight best applications, which included a joint project of camp Buryatia and Irkutsk region.

The results of “foresight navigation” will be summed up on November 3-7 in Yekaterinburg within the business program of the national championship of cross-cutting working professions of high-tech industries WorldSkills Hi-Tech.
